Where better to develop a skincare line than the Sonoran Desert? Here, we see climactic extremes. In the winter it can be cold and very dry to wet & rainy. At the higher elevations in town we get measurable snow. During the summer we have extreme and very dry heat as well as a wet and humid monsoon season. And the sun is intense year round.

The desert plants and environment are a great inspiration for Skintype. Desert plants weather the extreme elements. They repel the sun's harsh rays, and store water and nutrients during the dry season. We humans are a little more fragile than our green counterparts in many ways. So we respectfully borrow their healing, nurturing and sustaining properties to fortify our own.
